This is a really important building and I totally missed it the last two times I came here. This is where Hangul, the language of Korea was created. King Sejong commanded that a system of writing be made for the common people, since all the aristocrats used Chinese and traditional Chinese symbols, which was very difficult to read and learn. The greatest scientists and scholars of the time worked on it and created a system of writing that would make the country almost universally literate within a few short years. As such, the United Nations prize for literacy is named after King Sejong. He's the MAN.
