Here are a bunch of Korean totems - well, kinda. They are placed at the entrance to villages to ward off evil spirits and bad influences. Also pictured is a big pile of rocks. :-D More specifically, people would tie wishes on to the rock pile (which was also situated at the entrance to a village).
